On every version you can.
The trick is to go into Play Store, slide the mouse from the far left corner to right and the side menu will show up. There you can disable autoupdate.

the tricks from sslucasss worked for me, thank you guy.
but that means that clash farmer is not anymore compatible with latest version of clashofclans, hope this issue will be fixed soon.
waiting for that I've blocked auto upgrade.

I think it is not the clashfarmer ap is the problem, I try to uninstall my clash farmer then execute bluestack and open coc without installing the bot app..but the same issue exiting put after few seconds..
Does someone fix the issue? Please share.. Thanks

If you bothered reading the previous posts you would already solved it but anyways, here is the solution for now :
1. Uninstall Clash of Clans
2. Go into google play store and go to settings and select "Don't auto update apps".
3. Download COC v 8.116.2 (Latest version before today's update) from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/eev7pq....116.2.apk
4. Right click on Clash of Clans_8.116.2.apk and select "Open with Bluestacks APK Installer"
5. Launch COC, and magically it is working again.

I took me a while to find "turn off auto updates"
Click the "Play Games" app
Swipe out from the left side showing the side bar
Click "Explore"
Click "play Store"
Swipe out from the left again showing the side bar
Go down and click on "settings"
There you can change the "Auto-update apps"

Guys I've found the solution for myself from another guy's post. I'll post it here just to be easier. I hope he doesn't mind
FYI, I found a solution to this problem. It was indeed caused by the latest version of COC
Here is how to remedy on Bluestacks:
1. Uninstall Clash of Clans
2. Go into google play store and go to settings and select "Don't auto update apps".
3. Download COC v 8.116.2 (Latest version before today's update) from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/eev7pq....116.2.apk
4. Right click on Clash of Clans_8.116.2.apk and select "Open with Bluestacks APK Installer"
5. Launch COC, and magically it is working again.
If these steps don't work for you, try re-installing Bluestacks and then from a fresh Bluestacks install start with step 2.
Hope this helps someone else! I spent a while looking for a solution after it crashed earlier today.

"settings"
"Apps"
"clash of clans"
"uninstall"
2. Go into google play store and go to settings and select "Don't auto update apps"
From the home screen click "all apps"
Click the "Play Games" app
Swipe out from the left side of the screen showing a side bar
Click "Explore"
Click "play Store"
Swipe out from the left side of the screen again showing the side bar
Go down and click on "settings"
There you can change the "Auto-update apps" to "Do not auto-update apps"
done!
3. Download COC v 8.116.2 http://www.mediafire.com/download/eev7pq....116.2.apk
>>follow link.
hit the big green button. it should say (54.86 mb)
4. Right click on Clash of Clans_8.116.2.apk and select "Open with Bluestacks APK Installer"
>>once it downloads double click it
5. Launch COC, and magically it is working again.

Anyone have an issue with following the instructions and when opening the APK file you get this error? "INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK"??
